Full steam ahead for the Lough Ree Distillery in Longford
More exciting news this week from the Midlands, as plans for a new distillery in Longford, namely the Lough Ree Distillery, move full steam ahead.
The new distillery is the brainchild of a Longford native, Peter Clancy and in partnership with his brother Michael and sister, Sheila Mullen, they are planning to establish the distillery and visitor centre on the grounds of the old post office building in Lanesboro.
The project team recently announced details of an Employment & Investment Incentive Scheme (EIIS) aimed at financing the new project, which is expected to deliver 20 jobs when complete.
The Employment & Investment Incentive Scheme (EIIS) allows investors to obtain 30% tax relief in year one, with a further 10% tax relief in year 4, subject to a maximum individual investment of €150,000 per annum. The minimum investment amount is €25,000. Were so excited about it here at Midlands Whiskey Experiences we might even invest ourselves!
The Lough Ree Distillery has also recently launched their very own website that encapsulates the story of the why and when! Visit the website here.
