Celebrate World Cocktail Day with a Midlands Whiskey Cocktail

Egan’s Centenary

World Cocktail Day is a celebration of cocktails around the world, marking the publication date of the first definition of a cocktail on May 13th in 1806. So its the perfect excuse for you to enjoy a Midlands Whiskey cocktail and what better way to celebrate than with some of our favorite Midlands Whiskey cocktail recipes! Here are some Whiskey cocktail recipes to give you some inspiration!

‘Egan’s Old Fashioned’

The ‘Egan’s Old Fashioned’ cocktail offers a unique twist on a vintage classic and its so easy to make!

Recipe: Add 60ml of Egan’s 10 Year Old Single Malt , 7.5ml Sugar Syrup, 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters to a shaker. Stir & Strain over ice filled rocks glass and garnish with an Orange Wheel!

‘The Brosna Sour’

Our next favorite Midlands Whiskey Cocktail is the ‘Brosna Sour’ made with Kilbeggan Single Grain. This approachable whiskey with its smooth flavour profile lends itself to great cocktails.

Recipe: Add 60ml of Kilbeggan Single Grain, 7.5ml of lemon juice, 7.5ml of grapefruit juice and a dash of sugar syrup and 1 egg white to a shaker. Shake without ice, then add ice and shake again. Serve up in a tall glass of your choice and your ready to go!

‘The Bad Apple D.E.W.’

And finally, a classic cocktail from Tullamore D.E.W called The Bad Apple D.E.W.

Recipe: Add 50ml of Tullamore D.E.W Origional, 1 brown suger cube, 5ml of Irish Stout(Guineess is our favouite for this one), 2 dashes of ornage bitters and 50ml of Irish Cider to a tall glass. Soak the sugar cube with the stout, then muddle a little. Then add your bitters and Tullamore D.E.W. Original. Stir to dissolve sugar. Add ice and continue to stir. Top with cider and lemon zest.
